The newly appointed Secretary for Education in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Senator Isa Maina, has said that his priority in the sector was to lift the falling standard of education.

He said this yesterday during his inaugural meeting in Abuja with the management staff of the secretariat led by the Director of Administration and Finance Mrs Justina Maimagani.

According to him, education was the bedrock of development and that any nation that wishes to develop and grow must put education on the front burner.

He lamented the dearth of infrastructure and promised to do all he could to remedy the deficiencies.

In her response, Mrs Maimagani promised the cooperation of the management and staff of the secretariat and assured the new secretary that they would not relent in their tasks of implementing all government policies.
