Tears freely flowed down the faces of the wives of two de­ceased po­lice­men when a newly con­structed two storey build­ing lo­cated within Mo­bile Force, 20 Squadron, Ikeja, was named af­ter their hus­bands by the In­spec­tor-Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Ibrahim Idris.

The two po­lice­men were killed by armed rob­bers in Ow­erri, Imo State.

The de­ceased po­lice­men, Sergeant Sun­day Agbo and Sergeant Iboko Chukwu, were on guard duty at Zenith Bank, Ow­erri when the rob­bers struck.

Un­known gun­men stormed a branch of the bank in Ow­erri on Fe­bru­ary 22, 2017 and shot dead the two po­lice­men.

The wid­ows were of the be­lief that, at least, the ef­forts of their hus­bands would not go in vain.

The widow of Sergeant Agbo, Mrs Bless­ing Agbo said she was happy that her hus­band was hon­oured by the IGP.

She, how­ever, called on the po­lice au­thor­i­ties to help her train her six chil­dren.

Also, Mrs Rose Iboko ex­pressed joy over the hon­our, urg­ing the po­lice to as­sist her in train­ing her seven chil­dren

Idris while com­mis­sion­ing the of­fice com­plex said that they cops were hon­oured be­cause they died in ac­tive ser­vice, stress­ing that this would en­cour­age oth­ers.
