Tears freely flowed down the faces of the wives of two deceased policemen when a newly constructed two storey building located within Mobile Force, 20 Squadron, Ikeja, was named after their husbands by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris.
The two policemen were killed by armed robbers in Owerri, Imo State.
The deceased policemen, Sergeant Sunday Agbo and Sergeant Iboko Chukwu, were on guard duty at Zenith Bank, Owerri when the robbers struck.
Unknown gunmen stormed a branch of the bank in Owerri on February 22, 2017 and shot dead the two policemen.
The widows were of the belief that, at least, the efforts of their husbands would not go in vain.
The widow of Sergeant Agbo, Mrs Blessing Agbo said she was happy that her husband was honoured by the IGP.
She, however, called on the police authorities to help her train her six children.
Also, Mrs Rose Iboko expressed joy over the honour, urging the police to assist her in training her seven children
Idris while commissioning the office complex said that they cops were honoured because they died in active service, stressing that this would encourage others.
