DPR trains 200 chemists, lab­o­ra­tory prac­ti­tion­ers on data ac­cu­racy

No fewer than 200 chemists and lab­o­ra­tory prac­ti­tion­ers are cur­rently un­der­go­ing data ac­cu­racy and qual­ity re­sults for the nation oil and gas sec­tor in La­gos. The two-day train­ing with the theme: Ac­cu­rate an­a­lyt­i­cal data, the ful­crum for re­li­able sci­en­tific in­ves­ti­ga­tion is be­ing or­ga­nized by the reg­u­la­tory arm of Min­istry of Petroleum Re­sources, De­part­ment of Petroleum Re­sources (DPR). Ac­cord­ing to its direc­tor, Mr. Morde­cai Baba Ladan, rep­re­sented by Mrs Onye­buchi Sibeudu, Deputy Direc­tor, Safety, Health and En­vi­ron­ment, the train­ing be­came nec­es­sary in or­der to re-echo the vi­tal role the prac­ti­tion­ers play in Nige­ria oil and gas sec­tor. Ladan stressed that re­ports and data em­a­nat­ing from their lab­o­ra­to­ries and en­vi­ron­men­tal in­ves­ti­ga­tions guide pol­icy and project de­sign de­ci­sions which have far reach­ing ef­fects on the ecosys­tem and in­di­vid­ual lives.
