Bandits kill baby, 6 others in Zamfara
Armed bandits yesterday shot dead at least seven people including a baby in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The victims were on their way to the Dankurmi market when the bandits intercepted them and started collecting money, mobile phones, motorbikes and other valuables from them.
Residents told our correspondent that they shot dead anyone who resisted their move and among those killed were an old woman and her grandchild.
“Dozens of them wielding rifles stopped the residents on their way to Dankurmi market between SabonBirninBanaga and Duhuwa villages, killing people,” a resident, Aliyu Kawaye, said. He said they burnt many motorcycles seized from traders. The spokesman of the state police command could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
