Omoni Oboli returns with Wives in Strike: The Revolution’ this December
After the box office success of her flick ‘Wives on Strike,’ actress, writer, producer and director, Omoni Oboli returns with a sequel ‘Wives on strike: The Revolution.’
The original film debuted in April last year grossed over N15million in 15 days and struck 60 million in a matter of weeks in the box office, making it one of the top Nollywood box office movies ever. The success of that movie came on the heels of her March release of ‘Okafor’s Law.’
‘Wives on Strike’ follows the story of a group of market women who decided to take matters into their own hands against their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father. The women, who hilariously interpreted their roles, set a series of events in motion to give audiences many moments of laughter without missing a beat on the reason for everyone to know why they are on strike.
The sequel follows up on this story and chronicles the women’s fight against domestic violence, after one of them was beaten to death by her husband. This leads to yet another strike by the women against their husbands, forcing their hands to stand up for what is right.
With stellar cast such as Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Toyin Abraham, Sola Sobowale, Chioma Akpotha, Julius Agwu, Odunlade Adekola, Kenneth Okonkwo and more, Wives on Strike: The Revolution promises to be fun, intriguing, educating and definitely hilarious.
Omoni Oboli made her directorial debut with the romantic comedy ‘Being Mrs Elliott.’ Her second movie ‘The First Lady,’ had also opened as the highest grossing opening weekend Nigerian film in cinemas while her latest ‘Okafor’s Law’ also had a successful run in Cinemas.
