Over 8000 patients access Lagos varsity hospital treatment – CMD
Over 8000 patients access care and treatment regularly at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Professor Chris Bode has disclosed.
He said the hospital has been bridging the gap in the health sector amidst rising medical tourism even as he said most issues being handled abroad can be carried out at LUTH.
Bode spoke during the 1st Amity Awards by the Centre for Intervention Development and Leadership (CIDL).
The CMD said, “If you need 100 doctors to be on a patient in a day, we have them. We must start to believe in ourselves. LUTH is working.”
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, lauded the award as a great step to instill confidence in the health sector.
According to the minister, despite the negative stories about the country’s health-care, there are professionals making sacrifices and working to improve the sector.
