En­gi­neers elect new na­tional executive

The Nige­rian So­ci­ety of En­gi­neers (NSE) has elected a new 13-mem­ber na­tional executive of­fi­cers that would run the af­fairs of the or­gan­i­sa­tion in 2018.

The out­go­ing Na­tional Pres­i­dent of the so­ci­ety, En­gi­neer Otis Oliver Anyaeji, said this yes­ter­day in Abuja while pre­sent­ing the com­mu­niqué of the week-long “Abuja 2017” Na­tional En­gi­neer­ing Con­fer­ence and An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing (AGM) with the theme: “Di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion of Nige­rian Econ­omy: En­gi­neer­ing Per­spec­tive.”

Those elected are Adekunle Mokuolu, Pres­i­dent, Baba­gana Mo­hammed, Deputy Pres­i­dent, while the three vice pres­i­dents are Gi­dari-Wudil Ta­siu Saad, Ak­int­eye Joseph Olatunde and Mrs Ishidi Yo­hanna Edith.

The Executive Sec­re­tary-elect is Olu­sola Obadimu, the im­me­di­ate past pres­i­dent Anyaeji is also in­cluded, while the six executive com­mit­tee mem­bers are Ibitoye Felix Adedi­ran, Adedi­ran Hal­i­mat Sope, Garba Yakubu Ali, Prof Ab­dul­rahim Ab­dul­baqi, Ig­wegbe Chinyere Nnenna and Dr Ba­balola Rasheed.

The com­mu­niqué said the gov­ern­ment should cre­ate an en­abling en­vi­ron­ment to pro­mote com­mer­cial­iza­tion of re­search re­sults to in­crease avail­abil­ity of re­new­able en­ergy re­sources at com­pet­i­tive cost.
