FUT Minna gets new vice chan­cel­lor

Pro­fes­sor Ab­dul­lahi Bala, the deputy vice chan­cel­lor ad­min­is­tra­tion, Fed­eral Univer­sity of Tech­nol­ogy (FUT) Minna has been in­au­gu­rated as the 7the vice chan­cel­lor of the Univer­sity.

Speak­ing shortly af­ter his in­au­gu­ra­tion yes­ter­day in Minna, Pro­fes­sor Bala said his ad­min­is­tra­tion will be guided by three car­di­nal prin­ci­ples of obey­ing the sta­tus of the univer­sity and the laws of the land, good gov­er­nance and global best prac­tices that will take the univer­sity to a greater height.

“We shall take de­ci­sions that are in the best in­ter­est of the univer­sity. We shall work as­sid­u­ously and dis­pas­sion­ately to­ward as­sem­bling the best team to re­al­ize our set ob­jec­tives,” he said.

He said al­though the univer­sity has wit­nessed tremen­dous growth and de­vel­op­ment es­pe­cially in the last one and half decades, in the ar­eas of staff and stu­dent pop­u­la­tion to­tal­ing 25,000 and now ranked 5th among the spe­cial­ized univer­sity in Nige­ria and 45th out of 4,245 uni­ver­si­ties in Africa, it how­ever faced a lot of chal­lenges.
