The police in Borno State yesterday confirmed that four people were killed while nine others sustained injuries when Boko Haram militants invaded some parts of Maiduguri metropolis on Thursday evening.
The dead were Civilian JTF personnel, one other civilian and some two suspected female suicide bombers, while severely injured, are two operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and seven other civilians.
Speaking shortly after the attack, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, MajorGeneral Rogers Nicholas, said the troops of the Operation have in the late hours of Thursday successful repelled Boko Haram Terrorist incursion at the outskirts of Jidari-Polo area of Maiduguri.
He said troops prevented the attack with the support of other security agencies, including the Civilian JTF.
Having sent his troops in pursuit of the Boko Haram terrorists and currently patrolling the general area of Jidari, MajorGeneral Nicholas, urged the general public and residents of the area that have earlier fled their homes to return, encouraging them to report any suspicious persons to security agencies currently patrolling the area.
