The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, said Okafor was picked at an ATM point at Ebeano Housing Estate Branch following an alarm raised by a female victim concerning an alleged fraudulent exchange of her ATM card with a fake one.

Amaraizu said after Okafor allegedly exchanged the ATM card with his fake one, escaped before the suspect raised the alarm which attracted security operatives on duty at the bank who moved in quickly and arrested him.

According to the PPRO, the suspect who was apprehended on October 8 is helping the operatives in their investigations into his alleged nefarious activities.
