Nine new com­pa­nies come un­der ITA’s SAS Cen­tre for En­trepreneur­ship

Mus­cat - The In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy Au­thor­ity (ITA) cel­e­brated the in­cu­ba­tion of nine new com­pa­nies which joined SAS Cen­tre for En­trepreneur­ship re­cently.

SAS is a spe­cialised cen­tre which was launched in 2013 to cre­ate and in­cu­bate the emerg­ing Omani com­pa­nies in the ICT sec­tor. The in­cu­bated com­pa­nies are pro­vided with var­i­ous ser­vices and fa­cil­i­ties in­clud­ing an of­fice in the Knowl­edge Oa­sis Mus­cat, tech­ni­cal con­sul­tan­cies, in ad­di­tion to ac­count­ing, fi­nan­cial, mar­ket­ing and le­gal ser­vices, stated a press re­lease.

Has­san Fida al Lawati, di­rec­tor gen­eral of Dig­i­tal So­ci­ety De­vel­op­ment Divi­sion, said, “eO­man Strat­egy fo­cuses on de­vel­op­ing the IT sec­tor which is one of its most im­por­tant pil­lars. Hence, SAS Cen­tre was es­tab­lished with the aim of en­cour­ag­ing the emerg­ing Omani com­pa­nies, in­cu­bat­ing their tal­ents and urg­ing them to be en­trepreneurs and to utilise their skills.”

He added, “Since its launch, the cen­tre in­cu­bated 38 SMEs which signed a num­ber of con­tracts with many gov­ern­ment and pri­vate en­ti­ties in­side and out­side the sul­tanate, reach­ing up to RO2.40mn.

“SAS wel­comes all tal­ented youth who want to pro­duce in­no­va­tive IT so­lu­tions. We also urge the new in­cu­bated compa- nies to ben­e­fit from the in­cu­ba­tion pe­riod and the pro­vided ser­vices and fa­cil­i­ties.”

The new com­pa­nies in­clude ‘Bir­waz’, which is an Omani firm spe­cialised in event man­age­ment, dig­i­tal mar­ket­ing and tourism pro­mo­tion; ‘Baisah’ In­te­grated En­ter­prise, an Omani com­pany spe­cialised in the field of eCom­merce; ‘Xpro­ject’ spe­cial­is­ing in IT con­sult­ing ser­vices, sup­ply­ing IT prod­ucts, soft­ware, net­work­ing so­lu­tions, graphic de­sign and web­sites de­velop- ment, and Tech­nol­ogy and Space Com­pany, which aims at work­ing on the space field in the sul­tanate and de­vel­op­ing the mod­ern tech­nol­ogy field.

Other com­pa­nies in­clude ‘Mash­had’, which of­fers a wide range of con­cept de­sign ser­vices such as ar­chi­tec­tural and in­ter­nal de­sign; ‘ Man­doob’ which pro­vides par­cel de­liv­ery ser­vices through in­te­grated lo­gis­tics sys­tem that serves the SMEs; ‘Me­ta­morph’ which is a soft­ware de­vel­op­ment com­pany of­fer­ing web and mo­bile de­vel­op­ment ser­vices that are specif­i­cally catered to SMEs and start-ups within the GCC mar­ket; ‘Tar­ish’ films which is an Omani com­pany spe­cialised in the pro­duc­tion of video con­tent, de­vel­op­ment of cre­ative ideas, and pro­duc­tion man­age­ment and Mod­ern Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Soft­ware, which is an on­line eCom­merce plat­form called ha­daya.om, serv­ing flow­ers, sweets and cakes from var­i­ous Omani ven­dors to sup­port SMEs.
