Remove temporary paint coating from car after reaching destination: ROP

Muscat Daily - - NATION -

The ROP has asked owners to remove special paint coatings on their vehicles after travelling to Dhofar and back.

Many owners get temporary paint coatings on their cars for protection against sand while travelling long distances to reach the southern governorate.

“Many visitors drive down to Salalah from Muscat during the khareef season. The distance is around 1,000km. So, many owners get special coatings on their vehicles to protect from sand. This quoting is temporary and can be removed easily.

“However, they need to ensure that they don’t get the reg- istration plates painted. The registration plates on front and rear of the vehicle must be clearly visible from a distance. Also, the special coating must be of the same colour as that of the vehicle and should be removed after reaching the destination,” an ROP official said.

The ROP official said that those who keep driving with the temporary coating after reaching the destination are fined accordingly. “No one likes to see scratch on their cars. The MuscatSalalah route passes through certain stretches having sand on both sides. So, these temporary special paints protect your cars from sand. The paint must be removed after reaching the destination.”
