Omani Honey Mar­ket to open at MGM to­day

Mus­cat - The eighth Omani Honey Mar­ket will be­gin at the Mus­cat Grand Mall (MGM) on Wed­nes­day un­der the pa­tron­age of H E Talal bin Suleiman al Rahbi, deputy sec­re­tary gen­eral in the Supreme Coun­cil for Plan- ning. As many as 35 api­arists from across the coun­try will take part in the mar­ket. The four-day mar­ket is be­ing or­gan­ised by the Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture and Fish­eries.

The min­istry seeks to sup­port small and medium en­ter­prises spe­cialised in the pro­duc­tion of honey, bee breed­ing, and sale of bee breed­ing ac­ces­sories. It aims to find more out­lets to pro­mote Omani honey known for its high qual­ity and nu­tri­tional value.

The pre­vi­ous Omani honey mar­kets wit­nessed a great turnout of buy­ers. The sev­enth Omani Honey Mar­ket last year saw about four tonnes of honey worth RO99,000 be­ing sold.
