Omani twins with hearing disability make big noise in US robotics contest
Washington, US - An Omani team, comprising twin brothers Hamoud bin Nasser al Sa’adi and Ali bin Nasser al Sa’adi, won the third place in the ‘Global Robot’ competition held at George Washington University recently.
What is significant of the victory is that the Sa’adi twins are suffering from hearing loss. As many as 165 teams of young inventors from different countries took part in the competition. For the competition, the Omani team invented a robot that helps in finding potable water.
Only Oman fielded a team comprising members with hear- ing difficulties.
The competition aimed at detecting talents and encouraging them to achieve more in scientific and technical fields.
