H E Dr Sunaidy issues decision regulating ‘Remote Work’ system
Muscat - H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued Ministerial Decision (No 157/2017) concerning the regulations of ‘Remote Work’ through 'Invest Easy’ portal.
The decision on Remote Work aims to enable the employees of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) to complete work outside their work place, either at home, public places or even during holidays. This is to increase the productivity of the employees, the speed of transactions’ completion, the accuracy of their performance and the optimal utilisation of modern technology through Invest Easy system.
In this regard, H E Dr Sunaidy said that the ministry has taken the decision after the previous successful Remote Work experience when a number of employees had done their work in different shopping malls in all governorates of the sultanate.
Technically and administratively, the ministry has exceeded the issue of providing services from offices, which means the One-Stop Shop is not confined to a specific place or time.
He explained that MoCI will be the first authority in the sultanate to adopt the Remote Work system. This decision will assist the employees who cannot attend their places of work for health or emergency reasons. Now, they can perform work transactions of investors remotely, in case the nature of their work does not require meeting them.
