MSM30 rises 0.59%; vol­umes de­cline

The bench­mark in­dex of Mus­cat Se­cu­ri­ties Mar­ket (MSM) rose 0.59 per cent to close at 5,027.35 points on Wed­nes­day.

Trad­ing ac­tiv­ity de­te­ri­o­rated from the pre­vi­ous ses­sion as turnover de­creased by 51.82 per cent to RO2.44mn and vol­umes de­clined 45.32 per cent to 11.81mn shares.

While the Fi­nan­cial and Ser­vices in­dices rose by 0.26 per cent and 0.52 per cent, re­spec­tively; the In­dus­trial in­dex fell 0.14 per cent. The MSM Shariah in­dex closed up by 0.1 per cent at 742.05 points. Mar­ket breadth re­mained neu­tral as seven com­pa­nies closed up, while seven com­pa­nies closed down. The rest eight traded stocks closed flat for the day.

Top gain­ers were Na­tional Bank of Oman (2.4 per cent), Sem­b­corp Salalah (2.36 per cent), BankDho­far (2.33 per cent) and Oman­tel (1.78 per cent).

Top losers were Al An­war Hold­ing (-2.69 per cent), Oman Fish­eries (-1.56 per cent), Al Mad­ina In­vest­ment (-1.52 per cent) and Gal­far En­gi­neer­ing & Con­tract­ing (-1.35 per cent).
