Omani na­tional hon­oured with McDon­ald’s Sil­ver Hat Award

McDon­ald’s Oman has re­cently con­cluded its Ad­vance Shift Man­age­ment (ASM) class, a McDon­ald’s course that gives em­ploy­ees the best op­por­tu­nity to en­hance their skill sets and knowl­edge about the brand’s restau­rant op­er­a­tions. It recog­nises em­ploy­ees whose job per­for­mances and pro­fes­sion­al­ism serve as an in­spi­ra­tion to other mem­bers of the McDon­ald’s team.

McDon­ald’s ASM Sil­ver Hat Award, a recog­ni­tion given to the most ac­tive par­tic­i­pant in the ASM class, was awarded to Salim al Jabri, an Omani man­ager who has been work­ing with McDon­ald’s Oman for five years. Jabri was ac­corded with such an award as a re­sult of his ex­cel­lent job per­for­mance, hard work and ac­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion dur­ing the class.

“As an Omani ci­ti­zen, I feel hon­oured to re­ceive the ASM Sil­ver Hat Award this year. I thank my col­leagues for sup­port­ing me from the day I started my ca­reer at McDon­ald’s up to the present. McDon­ald’s pro­vides such a friendly at­mos­phere where I feel val­ued, re­spected and recog­nised for my con­tri­bu­tions. Var­i­ous train­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties such as the ASM have in­deed given me and the rest of my col­leagues the best op­por­tu­nity to upgrade our knowl­edge and skills and help us be­come com­pe­tent.”

McDon­ald’s as a global brand be­lieves that the most im­por­tant in­gre­di­ent of its suc­cess lies in its peo­ple. Its ro­bust em­pha­sis is that hu­man re­source de­vel­op­ment is not lim­ited to new re­cruits and ju­nior staff, but ex­tends way up the man­age­rial hi­er­ar­chy as well.

Amr Serry, train­ing man­ager at McDon­ald’s Oman, said, “The brand’s ASM train­ing course was con­ducted to eval­u­ate the em­ploy­ees’ strengths and chal­lenges, their job re­spon­si­bil­i­ties and lead­er­ship be­hav­iour. The course was aimed at re­in­forc­ing our peo­ple to de­liver the brand’s strictest op­er­at­ing pro­ce­dures, food safety and qual­ity stan­dards and cus­tomer ser­vice sat­is­fac­tion. Jabri is one of the many lo­cal tal­ents that we are proud to have as part of the McDon­ald’s team and will con­tinue to help him climb the cor­po­rate lad­der.”

Serry added, “McDon­ald’s con­tin­ues to en­hance the knowl­edge and skills of its work­force and help em­ploy­ees to have greater and bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the vi­tal as­pects of the busi­ness.

“The ASM course cov­ers key learn­ings, such as mar­ket pen­e­tra­tion, prof­itabil­ity, em­ployee com­mit­ment, lead­er­ship skill and var­i­ous tech­niques to en­hance a per­son’s man­age­rial role based on the McDon­ald's phi­los­o­phy. The course is aimed at rais­ing aware­ness amongst man­agers about their cru­cial role.”
