MSM30 rises 0.32%; volumes decline
Muscat - The benchmark index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.32 per cent to close at 5,063.95 points on Sunday.
Trading activity deteriorated from the previous session as turnover decreased by 19.48 per cent to RO1.11mn and volumes declined 30.36 per cent to 4.96mn shares.
The gains in the main index were supported by all the subindices. The Financial index rose by 0.6 per cent, Industrial index climbed by 0.34 per cent and Services index rose by 0.02 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed up by 0.1 per cent at 748.08 points.
Market breadth remained positive as 11 companies closed up, while three companies closed down. The rest ten traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were Al Madina Investment (4.69 per cent), Oman Fisheries (1.59 per cent), Al Anwar Holding (1.4 per cent) and Bank Sohar (1.38 per cent).
The three losers were Omantel (-0.87 per cent), National Gas (-0.66 per cent) and Port Services Corporation (-0.49 per cent).
