MSM30 rises 0.48% on improved activity
Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.48 per cent to close at 5,048.4 points on Tuesday.
Trading activity improved from the previous session as turnover increased by 0.89 per cent to RO3.07mn and volumes rose 10.74 per cent to 12.73mn shares.
While the Financial and Industrial indices rose by 0.82 per cent and 0.25 per cent, respectively; Services index fell by 0.01 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed up by 0.18 per cent at 742.73 points. Market breadth remained positive as 11 companies closed up, while three companies closed down. The rest 25 traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were Gulf Investment Services (3.9 per cent), National Bank of Oman (2.42 per cent), Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles (2.36 per cent) and Al Anwar Holdings (2.1 per cent)
The three losers were Oman Education & Training Investment Holding (-1.88 per cent), National Gas (-0.66 per cent) and Port Services Corporation (-0.5 per cent).
