Muscat Daily - - PRESS RELEASES -

Bait al Baranda will soon launch its summer events 2017 in its premises on the Muttrah seafront. The summer children's workshop will feature art classes from gardening, learning about Omani plants, painting of these indigenous plants to recycling, all aimed towards school students.

This workshop will be in conjuction with the Oman Botanic Garden, which has been established by Royal Order. It will commence from Sunday August 6 and will last till Tuesday August 22.

The aim of this summer workshop is to inculcate in children the importance of extra curricular activities in their daily lives. Instead of them being at home during these long summer school vacations, they could indulge in art of all forms.

Malik al Hinai, director of Bait al Baranda, said, “Bait al Baranda is privileged to host this yearly summer activity and this is our eleventh year of hosting such an event. We have managed to identify a niche and that is chil- dren in our communities. We aspire to introduce and encourage new talent at all times, a natural channel for nurturing children’s creativity, be it in the arts, science or technology. Our summer event last year was a success with over 140 children participating. Not only did we invite children from within the Muttrah community but we also extended invitations to the Muscat community at large. They participated in various activities, all based within the theme ‘Be Green’. This year, we continue with this environmental theme ‘Be Green 2’ and we expect the same enthusiasm from our young friends of Baranda.”

Application forms for registration have to be filled and signed by parents and these are available at Bait al Baranda in Muttrah. Children can choose to participate in a weekly session for RO10 (per child).

This is a two week workshop. Those interested could tentatively register by calling 24714262.
