Air Ara­bia gets ap­proval for eight weekly flights to So­har

Mus­cat - Af­ter ap­prov­ing two ad­di­tional flights to So­har from Shar­jah for Air Ara­bia ear­lier this week, the Pub­lic Author­ity for Civil Avi­a­tion (PACA) on Wed­nes­day gave the nod for two more flights on the So­har-Shar­jah route.

The ap­proval now gives Air Ara­bia the right to fly eight times a week to So­har. “The author­ity has to­day [Wed­nes­day] ap­proved the ad­di­tion of two flights be­tween So­har and Shar­jah, tak­ing the num­ber of weekly flights to eight,” it stated.

The air­line cur­rently op­er­ates four flights a week on Sun­day, Mon­day, Tues­day and Wed­nes­day and is yet to an­nounce the op­er­a­tion of ad­di­tional flights.

Air Ara­bia started its So­har op­er­a­tions on July 9, mak­ing So­har the third des­ti­na­tion in Oman af­ter Mus­cat and Salalah.

Qatar Air­ways too an­nounced on Wed­nes­day that it is ready to start its So­har op­er­a­tions from Au­gust 8.

Qatar Air­ways in its prepa­ra­tion for the launch, stated, “So­har, the third des­ti­na­tion in the Sul­tanate of Oman, with three flights per week start­ing Au­gust 8, 2017, is now closer than ever.”

The air­line had an­nounced be­gin­ning July about its in­au­gu­ral flight to So­har from Doha.

“Join­ing Qatar Air­ways’ global net­work are: So­har, Sul­tanate of Oman, which will launch on Au­gust 8; and Prague, Czech Repub­lic, which will launch on Au­gust 21,” the air­line had stated.

The air­line had con­firmed the start of its new ser­vice be­tween Doha and So­har with three weekly flights, while the ser­vice be­tween Doha and Prague will op­er­ate on a daily ba­sis. Both des­ti­na­tions will be op­er­ated by A320 air­craft.
