Bank Sohar expands its network with new ATM at Shell filling station in Darsait
Bank Sohar, as part of its strategy to provide added banking convenience to its customers across the country, has recently opened its new off-site ATM at the Shell filling station in the Darsait area.
The ideal location of the new ATM will offer greater banking convenience to its customers in the area and brings the total Bank Sohar ATMs in the sultanate to 57 devices in different locations across the country. The introduction of the new ATM forms part of the bank’s initiatives to expand its network in line with the industry needs that place emphasis on accessibility, reach, reliability and convenience.
Reiterating Bank Sohar’s commitment towards ensuring that its service delivery channels reach maximum customer saturation, Khamis Masoud al Rahbi, S AGM Retail Banking at Bank Sohar, said, “As a bank that prides itself on delivering excellence and innovation, we remain focussed on expanding our network to reach every part of the country.
“We already have a reliable and robust ATM network, and we continue to expand our customer touch points across the sultanate, so that customers can conduct their banking transactions with ease and convenience. This new off-site ATM at the Darsait Shell filling station is an ideal location and is the most recent of several new ATMs that we have planned to put into operation this year.”
In addition to the robust ATM network, Bank Sohar continues to bolster its customer touch points across the country, enabling customers to undertake their banking transactions with ease and convenience.
Together with the introduction of the new ATM, Bank Sohar provides an extensive network of 29 conventional branches with total of 57 ATMs across the sultanate.
Bank Sohar ATMs, now totalling 57 across the country, including the new ATM machine at the Darsait Shell filling station, operate under the OmanNet platform, offering customers the convenience of accessing their accounts 24/7 and benefit from services such as cash withdrawals of up to RO800 per day, balance inquiries, mini-statement and PIN change facility.
The bank’s ATMs at Buraimi and Shinas border also operate with the ‘Dirhams Dispensing’ facility, adding immense convenience to businessmen who travel and transact business across the border on a regular basis as well as to customers who visit the UAE.
The ATMs located at each of the bank’s branches across the country perform a dual function, dispensing cash as well as serving as a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) together with the available option of fund transfer services. In doing so, they offer Bank Sohar customers all the advantages of a standard ATM service in addition to cash deposit facility as a value-added service. Using this facility, customers can deposit their cash 24/7, without having the need to visit the branch during operating hours.
In addition, the bank’s E-channels, encompassing SMS banking, Internet banking services and a specialised mobile banking application for Android and iPhones allow customers to access their bank anytime and from anywhere.
Further, Bank Sohar has implemented recently the Mobile Payment Clearing and Switching System (MpClear), where customers will be able to conduct funds transfers on the Bank Sohar Mobile Banking App, using their phone numbers instead of their account numbers and allowing transfers 24x7.
