Op­er­a­tions at So­har Alu­minium plant to re­sume soon, says CEO

So­har Alu­minium has said that nor­mal op­er­a­tions will re­sume at the ear­li­est af­ter an in­ci­dent that oc­curred at its plant in So­har on Fri­day. The in­ci­dent re­sulted in the in­ter­rup­tion of So­har Alu­minium’s op­er­a­tions.

In a state­ment, Said al Ma­soudi, chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, So­har Alu­minium, said, “The sit­u­a­tion was im­me­di­ately con­trolled and there were no in­juries recorded. Our team of ex­perts and engi­neers have assessed the sit­u­a­tion and have en­sured that all nec­es­sary con­trols are in place to mit­i­gate any risks.

“At the mo­ment, the safety and se­cu­rity of our em­ploy­ees and all stake­hold­ers re­mains our para­mount con­cern. There are no long-term im­pli­ca­tions on the daily op­er­a­tions of the com­pany and we will re­sume nor­mal op­er­a­tions at the ear­li­est.

“We urge the pub­lic to only fol­low in­for­ma­tion shared on So­har Alu­minium’s of­fi­cial com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nels. We will keep you in­formed in case of any fur­ther de­vel­op­ments.”
