WHAT IS A HIGH-MO­BIL­ITY VE­HI­CLE?

High-mo­bil­ity ve­hi­cles (HMVs) usu­ally re­fer to multi-pur­pose, all­ter­rain ve­hi­cles usu­ally used by a coun­try’s armed forces or by in­dus­tries such as min­ing, oil and gas, forestry, ge­o­log­i­cal sur­vey­ing, dis­as­ter con­trol teams etc to move per­son­nel and equip­ment over dif­fi­cult and dan­ger­ous ter­rain. They are of­ten used in ar­eas with no roads, some­times not even dirt tracks. The US Army’s Humvees are among the most eas­ily recog­nised HMVs by the gen­eral pub­lic. Xiao­long’s ve­hi­cles are based on the same con­cept.
