MSM30 falls 0.7%; vol­umes in­crease

Muscat - The bench­mark in­dex of the Muscat Se­cu­ri­ties Mar­ket (MSM) fell by 0.69 per cent to close at 5,022.43 points on Sun­day.

Trad­ing ac­tiv­ity im­proved from the pre­vi­ous ses­sion as turnover in­creased by 19.77 per cent to RO1.71mn and vol­umes rose 10.27 per cent to 9.11mn shares.

All the sec­toral in­dices closed in red ter­ri­tory. The Fi­nan­cial in­dex de­clined by 0.79 per cent, In­dus­trial in­dex dropped by 0.18 per cent and Ser­vices in­dex fell by 1.1 per cent. The MSM Shariah in­dex closed down by 0.46 per cent at 741.36 points.

Mar­ket breadth re­mained neg­a­tive as five com­pa­nies closed up, while 17 com­pa­nies closed down. The rest eight traded stocks closed flat for the day.

Top gainers were Na­tional Alu­minium Prod­ucts (5.39 per cent), United Fi­nance (3.33 per cent), Na­tional Gas (2.76 per cent) and Al Jazeera Steel Prod­ucts (1.22 per cent).

Top losers were Re­nais­sance Ser­vices (-7.69 per cent), Port Ser­vices Cor­po­ra­tion (-5.21 per cent), Oman Fish­eries (-4 per cent) and Bank So­har (-2.67 per cent).
