MSM30 falls 0.7%; volumes increase
Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) fell by 0.69 per cent to close at 5,022.43 points on Sunday.
Trading activity improved from the previous session as turnover increased by 19.77 per cent to RO1.71mn and volumes rose 10.27 per cent to 9.11mn shares.
All the sectoral indices closed in red territory. The Financial index declined by 0.79 per cent, Industrial index dropped by 0.18 per cent and Services index fell by 1.1 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed down by 0.46 per cent at 741.36 points.
Market breadth remained negative as five companies closed up, while 17 companies closed down. The rest eight traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were National Aluminium Products (5.39 per cent), United Finance (3.33 per cent), National Gas (2.76 per cent) and Al Jazeera Steel Products (1.22 per cent).
Top losers were Renaissance Services (-7.69 per cent), Port Services Corporation (-5.21 per cent), Oman Fisheries (-4 per cent) and Bank Sohar (-2.67 per cent).
