FIH president and AHF boss offer support to Independence Day of India Cup hockey fest
Muscat - The world hockey (FIH) chief, Narinder Batra and the chief executive of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), Tayyab Ikram have lent their support to the forthcoming Independence Day of India Cup Hockey Festival, which will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) on August 11.
In a joint letter, both the officials extended their support and congratulated the organisers – Embassy of India in Muscat and Friends of Naqvi Group
– for conducting the hockey festival for the 12th year in succession in cooperation with the Oman Hockey Association.
The festival will feature two tournaments – Independence
Day Cup and Ambassador Cup – and a girl's hockey exhibition game.
UTSC, Muscat, Team Coorg, Dubai, two teams of Team Coorg, Muscat, and Oman veterans' will contest for the Independence Cup while Ambassador XI, Indian School Seeb and Indian School Mabella will fight for the Ambassador Cup.
The girl's exhibition game will feature students of Indian School, Seeb and Indian School Mabella.
On the occasion, two talented Indian boys will also be awarded with the Youth award. Sanskar Dubey (table tennis) and Antonio Thomas Biju (athletics) have been selected for this year's award.
