MSM30 rises 0.4%;volumes decline
Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.4 per cent to close at 5,042.31 on Monday.
Trading activity remained weak from the previous day as turnover dropped by 34.88 per cent to RO1.11mn and volumes fell 26.79 per cent to 6.67mn shares.
While the Financial index rose by 0.28 per cent; the Industrial and Services indices fell by 0.16 per cent and 0.34 per cent, respectively. The MSM Shariah index closed down by 0.04 per cent at 741.04 points.
Market breadth remained neutral as eight companies closed up, while eight companies closed down. The rest 11 traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were Oman National Engineering and Investment (2.61 per cent), BankDhofar (2.33 per cent), Sembcorp Salalah (2.32 per cent) and Bank Sohar (1.37 per cent).
Top losers were Al Suwadi Power (- 6.25 per cent), National Gas (-6 per cent), Oman Fisheries (-2.54 per cent) and Al Madina Investment (-1.52 per cent).
