MSM30 declines 0.73%; volumes up
Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) fell 0.73 per cent to close at 5,005.73 points on Tuesday.
Trading activity improved from the previous session as turnover jumped by 81.39 per cent to RO2.01mn and volumes increased 20.2 per cent to 9.35mn shares.
All the sectoral indices closed in red territory. While the Financial and Industrial indices declined by 0.73 per cent and 0.68 per cent, respectively; Services index fell by 0.22 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed down by 0.67 per cent at 736.05 points.
Market breadth remained negative as two companies closed up, while 18 companies closed down. The rest ten traded stocks closed flat for the day.
The two gainers were National Aluminium Products (5.84 per cent) and Sembcorp Salalah (1.36 per cent).
Top losers were Oman Fisheries (-5.22 per cent), Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles (-3 per cent), Al Madina Takaful (-2.78 per cent) and Oman National Engineering and In- vestment Co (-2.55 per cent).
