MSM30 de­clines 0.73%; vol­umes up

Mus­cat - The bench­mark in­dex of the Mus­cat Se­cu­ri­ties Mar­ket (MSM) fell 0.73 per cent to close at 5,005.73 points on Tues­day.

Trad­ing ac­tiv­ity im­proved from the pre­vi­ous ses­sion as turnover jumped by 81.39 per cent to RO2.01mn and vol­umes in­creased 20.2 per cent to 9.35mn shares.

All the sec­toral in­dices closed in red ter­ri­tory. While the Fi­nan­cial and In­dus­trial in­dices de­clined by 0.73 per cent and 0.68 per cent, re­spec­tively; Ser­vices in­dex fell by 0.22 per cent. The MSM Shariah in­dex closed down by 0.67 per cent at 736.05 points.

Mar­ket breadth re­mained neg­a­tive as two com­pa­nies closed up, while 18 com­pa­nies closed down. The rest ten traded stocks closed flat for the day.

The two gain­ers were Na­tional Alu­minium Prod­ucts (5.84 per cent) and Sem­b­corp Salalah (1.36 per cent).

Top losers were Oman Fish­eries (-5.22 per cent), Al An­war Ce­ramic Tiles (-3 per cent), Al Mad­ina Taka­ful (-2.78 per cent) and Oman Na­tional En­gi­neer­ing and In- vest­ment Co (-2.55 per cent).
