Z-Corp’s Cor­po­rate HR or­gan­ises re­treat for group em­ploy­ees

With an in­ten­tion to raise aware­ness about liv­ing the shared val­ues and strength­en­ing em­ployee re­la­tions within the com­pa­nies, The Zubair Cor­po­rate HR re­cently or­gan­ised a re­treat on ‘culture change and shared val­ues’ at Mil­len­nium Re­sort Mus­sanah.

A num­ber of em­ploy­ees from Zubair Group of Com­pa­nies par­tic­i­pated in the fifth ses­sion of ‘Culture Change Pro­gramme’ or­gan­ised for 2017. The pro­gramme was or­gan­ised by the Cor­po­rate HR in as­so­ci­a­tion with Uni­boats, an SME sup­ported by the Zubair Small En­ter­prise Cen­tre (SEC) and win­ner of Di­rect Sup­port Pro­gramme in 2015.

The ses­sion fo­cused on the ZCorp’s ‘shared val­ues’ and ‘be­havioural com­pe­ten­cies’. Dur­ing the pro­gramme, par­tic­i­pants re­flected on cor­po­rate val­ues of pas­sion, col­lab­o­ra­tion, care, re­spect, trust and in­no­va­tion.

A spokesper­son for Z-Corp Cor­po­rate HR said, “We wanted to raise aware­ness about the com­pany’s shared val­ues among the em­ploy­ees of the group. Many ac­tiv­i­ties were con­ducted to re­flect th­ese shared val­ues among the par­tic­i­pants. The in­ten­tion was that the par­tic­i­pants would share th­ese val­ues with fel­low em­ploy­ees.”

He added, “It was an op­portu- nity for em­ploy­ees to get to know col­leagues across the dif­fer­ent com­pa­nies by tak­ing part in a se­ries of team build­ing and water sport ac­tiv­i­ties. Each ac­tiv­ity demon­strated some of the ZCorp’s core val­ues. Th­ese val­ues which are also our Core Be­havioural Com­pe­ten­cies will be as­sessed this year in the new au­to­mated Per­for­mance Man­age­ment Sys­tem - PMS (based on Bal­anced Score­card).”

Em­ploy­ees who at­tended the pro­gramme ac­knowl­edged the im­mense ben­e­fits they got out of it. They felt that in­ter­act­ing and net­work­ing with col­leagues from group com­pa­nies was vi­tal be­cause they felt they can use each other’s skills for the ben­e­fit of the com­pany.

One of the em­ploy­ees who par­tic­i­pated said, “The pro­grammes were de­signed to pro­mote per­sonal and in­sti­tu­tional growth. The team ac­tiv­i­ties made me re­alise the im­por­tance of team work and how with­out it, we would not achieve the de­sired re­sults as an or­gan­i­sa­tion.”

The Cor­po­rate HR de­part­ment’s re­treat on ‘culture change and shared val­ues’ will con­tinue through­out the year. The cor­po­rate shared value was drafted and ex­tracted from the vi­sion and mis­sion of The Zubair Cor­po­ra­tion.
