Z-Corp’s Corporate HR organises retreat for group employees
With an intention to raise awareness about living the shared values and strengthening employee relations within the companies, The Zubair Corporate HR recently organised a retreat on ‘culture change and shared values’ at Millennium Resort Mussanah.
A number of employees from Zubair Group of Companies participated in the fifth session of ‘Culture Change Programme’ organised for 2017. The programme was organised by the Corporate HR in association with Uniboats, an SME supported by the Zubair Small Enterprise Centre (SEC) and winner of Direct Support Programme in 2015.
The session focused on the ZCorp’s ‘shared values’ and ‘behavioural competencies’. During the programme, participants reflected on corporate values of passion, collaboration, care, respect, trust and innovation.
A spokesperson for Z-Corp Corporate HR said, “We wanted to raise awareness about the company’s shared values among the employees of the group. Many activities were conducted to reflect these shared values among the participants. The intention was that the participants would share these values with fellow employees.”
He added, “It was an opportu- nity for employees to get to know colleagues across the different companies by taking part in a series of team building and water sport activities. Each activity demonstrated some of the ZCorp’s core values. These values which are also our Core Behavioural Competencies will be assessed this year in the new automated Performance Management System - PMS (based on Balanced Scorecard).”
Employees who attended the programme acknowledged the immense benefits they got out of it. They felt that interacting and networking with colleagues from group companies was vital because they felt they can use each other’s skills for the benefit of the company.
One of the employees who participated said, “The programmes were designed to promote personal and institutional growth. The team activities made me realise the importance of team work and how without it, we would not achieve the desired results as an organisation.”
The Corporate HR department’s retreat on ‘culture change and shared values’ will continue throughout the year. The corporate shared value was drafted and extracted from the vision and mission of The Zubair Corporation.
