Nursing forum begins at PDO training centre
Muscat - The Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, represented by the Directorate of Nursing Affairs, in collaboration with the Petroleum Development Oman Medical Centre began the fifth National Nursing Conference on Sunday.
The five-day event started under the patronage of Sayyida Mera bint Mashal al Said at the PDO training centre, stated a press release.
Over 655 participants from various health institutions in the sultanate are attending the conference.
The conference aims to raise awareness in providing excellent care to the patients and updating knowledge of nurses working in specialised areas. It also seeks to promote managerial and leadership skills, discussing evidencebased practice in management of critically ill patients, as well as promoting safe and effective maternal and child health.
Maia al Siabi, director of nursing affairs in Khoula Hospital said, “The conference is focusing on preparing leadership quality of nursing personnel and quality care for patients in different specialised clinical areas of nursing - maternity and child, critical care etc.”
