Nurs­ing fo­rum be­gins at PDO train­ing cen­tre

Mus­cat - The Direc­torate Gen­eral of Khoula Hos­pi­tal, rep­re­sented by the Direc­torate of Nurs­ing Af­fairs, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Pe­tro­leum De­vel­op­ment Oman Med­i­cal Cen­tre be­gan the fifth Na­tional Nurs­ing Con­fer­ence on Sun­day.

The five-day event started un­der the pa­tron­age of Sayyida Mera bint Mashal al Said at the PDO train­ing cen­tre, stated a press re­lease.

Over 655 par­tic­i­pants from var­i­ous health in­sti­tu­tions in the sul­tanate are at­tend­ing the con­fer­ence.

The con­fer­ence aims to raise aware­ness in pro­vid­ing ex­cel­lent care to the pa­tients and up­dat­ing knowl­edge of nurses work­ing in spe­cialised ar­eas. It also seeks to pro­mote man­age­rial and lead­er­ship skills, dis­cussing ev­i­dence­based prac­tice in man­age­ment of crit­i­cally ill pa­tients, as well as pro­mot­ing safe and ef­fec­tive ma­ter­nal and child health.

Maia al Si­abi, di­rec­tor of nurs­ing af­fairs in Khoula Hos­pi­tal said, “The con­fer­ence is fo­cus­ing on pre­par­ing lead­er­ship qual­ity of nurs­ing per­son­nel and qual­ity care for pa­tients in dif­fer­ent spe­cialised clin­i­cal ar­eas of nurs­ing - ma­ter­nity and child, crit­i­cal care etc.”
