Omani Hajj Mis­sion to leave on Aug 19

Mus­cat - Sheikh Sul­tan bin Said al Hi­nai, head of the Omani Hajj Mis­sion for 2017 said that the mis­sion has taken var­i­ous steps and main­tained co­or­di­na­tion in re­la­tion to travel pro­ce­dures in­side and out­side the sul­tanate.

The mis­sion will leave on Au­gust 19.

Speak­ing about the elec­tronic reg­is­tra­tion sys­tem, Sheikh Hi­nai said that pil­grims would be given cards and un­dergo pro­ce­dures be­fore en­ter­ing the sa­cred lands.

He ex­plained that the trans­fer of Omani pil­grims’ data to the Saudi Hajj Por­tal has been ini­ti­ated and the Omani hajj com­pa­nies can take pil­grim per­mits from Saudi Ara­bia.

He added that trans­fer of data will help hajj com­pa­nies to fi­nalise var­i­ous con­tracts and pack­ages of ser­vices needed by pil­grims in Me­d­ina and Mecca.

He pointed out that the Omani mis­sion will go to Mecca and a team will be sent to Me­d­ina to serve the pil­grims of the sul­tanate.

He added that the con­cerned de­part­ments in the min­istry are deal­ing with the sub­sti­tute can- di­dates for ab­sent pil­grims and that their ap­pli­ca­tions are be­ing pro­cessed.
