Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind recreates the culinary magic of the legendary Grand Trunk Road

WHETHER you wish to explore the imperial creations of Delhi, the barbecued temptation­s of Peshawar or the sublime vegetarian fare of Varanasi, ‘Dhabas along Grand Trunk Road’ promotion by Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind at The Hormuz Grand Hotel covers the popular dishes at the major stops along this route right from Peshawar, Punjab, Delhi, Kanpur, Varanasi and Patna, all the way to Kolkata. From 19 August to 17 September, reserve a table for dinner during week days and lunch or dinner during weekends. The world renowned Qureshi brothers will recreate the magic of each region bringing out the flavours that have made the food legendary.

“The diverse food of India is brought together under this culinary festival that focuses on the star dishes which were relished and promoted by traders who travelled this busy highway. The idea is to bring to the table different flavours, textures, aromas and colours,” says Ashfaque Qureshi, who is visiting along with Irfan Qureshi to spearhead the promotion. Fish preparatio­n and stuffed paranthas of Punjab, spiced up fowl from Delhi, kebab and barbecued preparatio­n from Afghanista­n, Pakistan and Lucknow, not to mention the eternal favourites such as cholle bhature and makke di roti aur sarson da saag are some of the dishes incorporat­ed in the menu. Bring the amazing journey to a sweet conclusion with mouth watering treats such as Zarda, Phirnee, Gajar Ka halwa.
