Shura re­views replies of health, com­merce and in­for­ma­tion min­is­ters

MUSCAT: Ma­jlis Ash’shura Of­fice held a meet­ing chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Hi­lal al Maawali and dis­cussed a num­ber of min­is­te­rial replies on par­lia­men­tary ques­tions sent by mem­bers of Ma­jlis Ash’shura.

The of­fice also con­sid­ered the let­ter of Ma­jlis Ash’shura stand­ing com­mit­tees on the dif­fer­ent is­sues.

The of­fice dis­cussed the let­ter of the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters on the an­nual re­ports for 2016 for the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and the Min­istry of Trans­port and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

The min­is­te­rial re­ports in­cluded sum­mary of the achieve­ments made in 2016, the progress made in the Min­istry projects, the ma­jor plans and strate­gies, in ad­di­tion to key sta­tis­tics.

The meet­ing re­viewed the re­ply of Ahmed bin Nasser bin Ha­mad al Mehrzi, Min­is­ter of Tourism on the ques­tion about the ser­vices pro­vided by cus­tomer ser­vice depart­ments.

It also re­viewed the re­ply of Dr Ahmed bin Mo­hammed al Saeedi, Min­is­ter of Health on the re­quest to em­ploy grad­u­ates of the op­tics at Al Bu­raimi Univer­sity. The Of­fice also dis­cussed the ques­tion ad­dressed to Dr Ali bin Ma­soud al Su­naidy, Min­is­ter of Com­merce and In­dus­try on the stages of the laws rec­om­men­da­tion by the na­tional eco­nomic di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion pro­gramme ‘ Tan­feedh’.

The in­quiry in­cluded the stages reached by the pro­posed draft laws (whether those to be amended or new laws), such as the For­eign Cap­i­tal in­vest­ment Law and the Com­mer­cial Companies Law.

The meet­ing ap­proved the ques­tion ad­dressed to Dr Ab­dul­mu­nim bin Man­sour al Hasani, Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion on the copied ar­ti­cles and the mea­sures to be taken by the Min­istry to de­ter jour­nal­ists who vi­o­late the me­dia code of ethics, as well as the role of the Min­istry to neu­tralise their writ­ings and make them con­sis­tent with the pub­lic norms.
