MoH holds work­shop on clin­i­cal au­dit of medicines

MUSCAT: Un­der the pa­tron­age of Dr Mo­hammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Un­der-Sec­re­tary of Min­istry of Health for Health Affairs, a work­shop on the sci­en­tific ba­sics of clin­i­cal au­dit of medicines in the health in­sti­tu­tions be­gan on Mon­day at the Oman Med­i­cal Col­lege.

The work­shop is or­gan­ised by the Min­istry of Health (MoH), rep­re­sented by the Drug Ra­tio­nal Use De­part­ment and in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion (WHO).

The two-day work­shop gath­ers more than 60 par­tic­i­pants of clin­i­cal and gen­eral phar­ma­cists.

Phar­ma­cist Nawal bint Ja­far, Direc­tor of Drug Ra­tio­nal Use, pointed out to the im­por­tance of this work­shop in achiev­ing safe and log­i­cal drug use in light of ex­pan­sion of the spe­cialised health ser­vices which re­quire us­ing new medicines that no suf­fi­cient in­for­ma­tion on its safety is avail­able as it is new in the mar­ket.
