SA­JEEV steers Max­itech to vic­tory

MUS­CAT: A match-win­ning all-round show by Sa­jeev Sathyanan­dan saw Max­itech In­ter­na­tional to an 8-wicket win over Sketch In­ter­na­tional in an H Di­vi­sion game at OAC III ground in Al Seeb.

Sa­jeev first bowled beau­ti­fully, tak­ing two wick­ets for 24 in his spell as his side dis­missed Sketch In­ter­na­tional for 146 in 20 overs.

He was later in­stru­men­tal in Max­itech win­ning the game com­fort­ably in 13.1 overs, scor­ing a hur­ri­cane 77 off 38 balls.

Re­quir­ing 166 to win, Dan­mark raced to the tar­get in the 16th over, scor­ing 168 with­out loss with Jo­han notch­ing up 116 off 64 balls. Fel­low opener Doresh Deven­der scored 40 not out off 28. Azam Ali and Jayesh Anil bagged two each. Cha­hel led the chase with a 60-ball 70 while Ankith scored an un­beaten 41 off 37 as ISM achieved the tar­get in the 25th overs, los­ing only two wick­ets. TO BIG WIN In an Un­der-13 League match, MCCC ‘A’ in­flicted a heavy de­feat on Bow­sher Olympic Cen­tre (BOC), thanks to ster­ling per­for­mances by Gyan Ganesh Banja, Saami Kabir Khan and Ar­jun­suresh Dhi­man at Mus­cat Mu­nic­i­pal­ity ground 1 on Fri­day. Bat­ting first, MCCC ‘A’ piled up a huge 243 for 1 in 20 overs with each of its top three bats­men mak­ing a huge im­pres­sion. Gyan re­mained un­beaten at 88 off 56 ball, Saami scored a stylish 69 off 45, while Ar­jun­suresh hit a swash­buck­ling 62 off 27 balls. Fac­ing a daunt­ing task, BOC folded up for just 67 in 14 overs. Saami and Aad­hithya Ra­maswamy led the bowl­ing hon­ours, tak­ing two wick­ets each.
