Crew members rescued
The Civil Defence and the Salalah Port authorities were engaged in separate rescue operations to save the lives of sailors trapped in the tidal waves. On Saturday, a team from Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA), in cooperation with the local police of Sadah, managed to rescue eight members of a merchant ship trapped between rocks and tidal waves. All the rescued are in good health, said a statement from PACDA. On Friday, the Coast Guard responded to a distress call from two ships, with 26 crew members.
