Award for excellence in e-government on December 6

MUSCAT: For the final phase of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-government 2016, the Informatio­n Technology Authority (ITA) will be organising a function at the Sultan Qaboos University Cultural Centre, Grand Hall on December 6.

The function will be organised under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Munim bin Mansour Al Hasani, Minister of Informatio­n.

Out of the 64 participat­ing pro- jects from 38 government units, private and SMEs institutio­ns, only 11 projects will be honoured.

This year, the award contains 11 categories distribute­d for government, private and SMEs sectors.

The government sector entities can compete in eight different categories, namely: Best e-Service including (G2E, G2B), Best e-Services via Mobile including (G2E, G2B), Best whole of government Project, Best service supporting doing business, Best e-participat­ion for decision making initiative, Best e-transforma­tion achievemen­t.

Whereas the private sector’s large organisati­ons can compete in two categories, namely: Best Public eService and Best Public Mobile eService. Private sector ICT Small and Medium Enterprise­s can participat­e, in one category: Best SME eService.
