ODP SOC provides Managed Security Services in Oman

Times of Oman - - ROUND-UP -

MUSCAT: Staying ahead of rapidly evolving security threats is challenging from a cost, expertise and efficiency perspective. Oman Data Park’s (ODP) Managed Security Services (MSS) is the pioneer Security Operation Centre (SOC) in Oman that provides real time protection, detection and response.

It helps protect businesses and data through multilayered security and comprehensive compliance packages and is backed by complete management, monitoring and support. The company has designed its security operations centre to proactively identify where potential security threats & vulnerabilities may exist.

While most security technologies play a defensive role and are reactive in nature, ODP’s MSS empowers organisations to be more proactive in how they protect against, detect and respond to threats. The enhanced security package delivers advanced security monitoring, threat detection and incident response services to help organisations improve their cybersecurity posture as they continue their digital transformation efforts. In addition, ODP’s security operation centre is operational 24X7 and supports more than 300 clients in Oman.

One of the recent MSS that ODP offers is DMARC (Domainbased Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance). Many companies are unaware when emails are sent on their behalf and such phishing activity by phishers could harm a company’s reputation. DMARC helps gain insight into these sources and can, therefore, protect domains from phishing/abuse.

Another security service trend is the Anti-Phishing & Fake Mobile Application Monitoring and Removal Service, designed to provide best-in-class monitoring and attack mitigation for a range of the web and mobile fraud related attacks including phishing, pharming, web site defacement, and DNS attacks. Its enhancements enable organisations to monitor social media feeds, domain registrations and mobile applications for advanced brand intelligence, live web site connection monitoring, domain registration monitoring, global DNS monitoring and malware collection and analysis.

“Facing an increasingly hostile threat landscape, businesses of all sizes are struggling to ensure the security of their sensitive data and technology investments. These challenges are driving many organisations to seek out security service providers that have the technical expertise and advanced security offerings that can meet their unique business requirements. Oman Data Park’s new MSS Programme reinforces our ongoing investments and continued dedication to the success of our MSSP partners and the security of their customers,” said Maitham Al Lawati, general manager - Risk & Compliance. “Our combination of technical expertise and deep access to the underlying technologies ensure that our MSS platforms meet the unique needs of each customer and deliver leading security services to protect today’s demanding business environment.”
