Startup Grind hosts founder, CEO of ArabNet
MUSCAT: Startup Oman, the Sultanate’s only online platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs and the designated chapter of Startup Grind in Oman, has hosted Startup Grind recently. Innovation Factory as the event partner and Wadi Accelerator as the exclusive local sponsor hosted startup Grind.
Featured on Startup Grind’s stage was Omar Christidis, founder and CEO of ArabNet, the leading events & media company focused on the Arab web and mobile industry.
ArabNet organises the leading conferences for the digital sector in MENA including annual events in Beirut, Dubai and Riyadh. ArabNet also publishes news and analysis on the web and mobile industry on its online portal and print magazine, The ArabNet Quarterly.
Omar spoke on the success of Arabnet events saying: “Measuring our impact is crucial to our operations. We have heard many stories of how Arabnet has affected people’s lives. For example, one of Careem’s cofounders met the other two cofounders in an Arabnet event! However, we also know that 40% of companies have met investors, 60% have met clients, and 70% have received significant media exposure through our conferences.” He continued, “The main challenge we are now faced with at the moment is addressing scale versus innovation. It is important for us to be able to repeat processes to scale, however at the same time, remaining innovative enough to compete and provide value.
