APC em­pha­sis on merg­ing FATA into KP

IS­LAM­ABAD: The All Par­ties Con­fer­ence (APC), con­vened by the Awami Na­tional Party (ANP) on Fata has urged the gov­ern­ment to merge the tribal ar­eas with the Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa prov­ince.

Lead­ers of dif­fer­ent po­lit­i­cal par­ties in­clud­ing, Pak­istan Peo­ples Party (PPP), Na­tional Party, Ja­mat Is­lami, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Mut­tahida Qaumi Move­ment (MQM Pak­istan), Jamiat Ulema-e- Is­lam (JUI-F), Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (KP MAP) and oth­ers.

The joint dec­la­ra­tion of the APC said that if fur­ther de­lay was made in merger of FATA into Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the par­ties of APC would raise the right step. It also asked the gov­ern­ment to en­sure com­plete rep­re­sen­ta­tion in the pro­vin­cial assem­bly be­fore gen­eral elec­tions 2018. It asked to abol­ish the FCR in FATA and peo­ple of FATA must be given le­gal, con­sti­tu­tional and ba­sic hu­man rights.

Op­po­si­tion leader in the Na­tional Assem­bly, Syed Khur­shid Ahmed Shah termed it a wel­com­ing step that all po­lit­i­cal par­ties have as­sem­bled to change the fate of FATA. He said his party also de­mands merger of FATA in KP.
