APC emphasis on merging FATA into KP
ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Conference (APC), convened by the Awami National Party (ANP) on Fata has urged the government to merge the tribal areas with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Leaders of different political parties including, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), National Party, Jamat Islami, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM Pakistan), Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam (JUI-F), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (KP MAP) and others.
The joint declaration of the APC said that if further delay was made in merger of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the parties of APC would raise the right step. It also asked the government to ensure complete representation in the provincial assembly before general elections 2018. It asked to abolish the FCR in FATA and people of FATA must be given legal, constitutional and basic human rights.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah termed it a welcoming step that all political parties have assembled to change the fate of FATA. He said his party also demands merger of FATA in KP.
