8074 cases of HIV-AIDS re­ported in coun­try: NA In­formed

IS­LAM­ABAD: Min­is­ter for Health Ser­vices Saira Afzal Tarar has in­formed the Na­tional Assem­bly on Thurs­day that 8074 cases of HIV-AIDS were re­ported in the coun­try dur­ing the last one and a half year from Jan­uary 2016 to 30th June 2017.

She in­formed that HIVAIDS cases were re­ported in Fed­eral Cap­i­tal, Pun­jab, Sindh, Balochis­tan and KP. While de­scrib­ing the num­bers she said that 503 in Fed­eral Cap­i­tal, 3878 in Pun­jab, 2521 in Sind, 881 KP and 291 in Baluchis­tan prov­ince, she added. She said that HIV-AIDS cases have alarm­ingly in­creased in the cur­rent year as com­pare to the last year and added that many cases had re­vealed in Pun­jab prov­ince.

How­ever, the Na­tional Assem­bly also was in­formed that gov­ern­ment has taken con­crete steps for de­vel­op­ment of agri­cul­ture sec­tor. Re­ply­ing to a ques­tion dur­ing the ques­tion hour, Min­is­ter for In­ter Pro­vin­cial Co­or­di­na­tion Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that sub­sidy on fer­til­iz­ers was in­creased to thirty-nine bil­lion ru­pees in last fis­cal year.
