Rangers nab eight ac­cused in­clud­ing lyari gang war mem­ber

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Thurs­day claimed to have ap­pre­hended eight ac­cused, in­clud­ing a Lyari gang war mem­ber, dur­ing a crack­down in the metropo­lis.

Ac­cord­ing to Rangers' spokesper­son, a Rangers team car­ried out a tar­geted raid in Saud­abad area and de­tained a Lyari gang war ac­tivist, Mir­chakar. The ac­cused was al­legedly in­volved in deal­ing il­le­gal weapons in the city.

Sep­a­rately, a Rangers’ party con­ducted search op­er­a­tions in Sohrab Goth and Saud­abad ar­eas and ar­rested seven sus­pects, Muham­mad Hamid Batti, Maq­soood Hus­sain Khan, Kashif Babar, Muham­mad Adil, Ali Ak­bar, Ab­dul Wahid and a rob­ber, Nazar Ab­bas.

The Rangers also claimed to have re­cov­ered weapons, con­tra­band and drugs from their pos­ses­sion.

They would be handed over to po­lice for fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion, said Rangers.
