Sindh govt fails to ar­rest “cha­lawa” (knife-at­tacker): Fa­rooq Sat­tar

KARACHI: Leader of Mut­tahida Qaumi Move­ment (MQM) Pak­istan Dr Fa­rooq Sat­tar said that in­creas­ing at­tacks by cha­lawa (knife at­tacker) in Karachi has trig­gered un­rest in the city as the Sindh govern­ment failed to ar­rest knife-wield­ing sus­pect so far.

While talk­ing to me­dia out­side the court on Thurs­day he sug­gested that the Sindh govern­ment should ac­cept its fail­ure and in­tro­duce a “Chowki­dari sys­tem’’ at Mo­halla level.

Fa­roof Sat­tar said that more than 150 MQM work­ers were miss­ing adding it is the peo­ple’s right to know about their beloved miss­ing and meet them. MQM Pak­istan said that “he and Amir Khan have recorded their state­ments”.

He said that “we had an­nounced our dis­as­so­ci­a­tion from MQM Lon­don adding now we have no con­nec­tion with it”.
