Gi­lani says In­dia tram­pling all fun­da­men­tal rights in IOK

SRI­NA­GAR: In oc­cu­pied Kash­mir, the All Par­ties Hur­riyat Con­fer­ence (APHC) Chair­man, Syed Ali Gi­lani has said that New Delhi is tram­pling all fun­da­men­tal rights of the peo­ple.

Syed Ali Gi­lani in a state­ment is­sued in Sri­na­gar ex­pressed se­ri­ous con­cern over ran­sack­ing of res­i­dence of a noted writer and Is­lamic scholar, Altaf Hus­sain Nadvi, by In­dian troops.

He de­nounced the In­dian forces for their hooli­gan­ism and said that un­der the pro­tec­tion of dra­co­nian law, Armed Forces Spe­cial Pow­ers Act (AFSPAP, the forces’ per­son­nel en­joyed im­punity and were in­volved in in­flict­ing bru­tal­i­ties on peo­ple. “It is very se­ri­ous and con­demnable that forces dur­ing their raids re­sort to loot and women and el­derly are ill-treated,” he added.
