Chehlum se­cu­rity: Cel­lu­lar ser­vices to be sus­pended in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh gov­ern­ment on Thurs­day is­sued a no­ti­fi­ca­tion sus­pend­ing mo­bile phone ser­vices on ac­count of Chehlum of Imam Hus­sain (RA) in Karachi.

The ban will be ef­fec­tive from 10am till 10pm on Fri­day to main­tain law and or­der, the no­ti­fi­ca­tion said.

As part of strict se­cu­rity mea­sures for the Chehlum of mar­tyrs of Kar­bala, pil­lion rid­ing has been banned in Karachi for Nov 9 and 10.

The ban has been im­posed on pil­lion rid­ing in Karachi un­der Sec­tion 144 of the Crim­i­nal Pro­ce­dure Code (CrPC), the no­ti­fi­ca­tion is­sued by the Sindh home de­part­ment read.

On the other hand, Balochis­tan home de­part­ment also banned pil­lion rid­ing in Quetta on ac­count of Chehlum Imam Hus­sain (RA).
