De­spite con­straints, foun­da­tion of sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment laid in coun­try: PM Ab­basi

IS­LAM­ABAD: Prime Min­is­ter Shahid Khaqan Ab­basi has said that de­spite con­straints, foun­da­tion of sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment has been laid in the coun­try.

He was ad­dress­ing En­gi­neers Con­ven­tion or­ga­nized by Pak­istan En­gi­neer­ing Coun­cil here on Thurs­day. He said in­fra­struc­ture in­clud­ing power plants and road projects have been com­pleted keep­ing in view the fu­ture re­quire­ments of the coun­try.

The Prime Min­is­ter re­minded that when the present gov­ern­ment as­sumed of­fice, in­dus­tries and the CNG were closed due to non sup­ply of power to them.

He said we have ad­dressed the en­ergy is­sues by im­port­ing gas and adding ten thou­sand megawatt of power to the sys­tem in a mat­ter of four years.

He said the present gov­ern- ment also com­pleted projects which were started by the pre­vi­ous gov­ern­ments in­clud­ing that Neelum Jhelum, Lowari Tun­nel, Kachi Canal and Nandipur Power Plant.
