Mufti Qavi granted bail in Qan­deel Baloch mur­der case

MUL­TAN: Dis­trict and Ses­sions Judge (D&SJ) Ameer Muham­mad Khan on Tues­day granted a bail to Mufti Ab­dul Qavi who was ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of so­cial me­dia celebrity Qan­deel Baloch.

Ac­cord­ing to the pros­e­cu­tion, the first hear­ing in new ju­di­cial com­plex was of Mufti Ab­dul Qavi’s bail ap­pli­ca­tion.

Mufti Qavi had been di­rected to fur­nish surety bonds worth Rs 200,000.

Mufti Ab­dul Qavi was ar­rested by the po­lice on Oct 18 af­ter re­jec­tion of his bail be­fore ar­rest ap­pli­ca­tion from the court. The main ac­cused in the case had al­ready been ar­rested by the po­lice.

Mufti Qavi was ar­rested af­ter Qan­deel Baloch’s fa­ther stated that he might have some role in the killing of his daugh­ter.

The ac­cused re­mained in po­lice cus­tody on phys­i­cal re­mand for 13 days and was in jail on ju­di­cial re­mand for the last 13 days.
