Sindh Govt be­lieves in part­ner­ship build­ing: Dr. Pechuho

KARACHI: Gov­ern­ment of Sindh be­lieves in part­ner­ship build­ing with com­mu­ni­ties and wants to ac­knowl- edge their con­tri­bu­tion to­wards com­mu­nity well­be­ing lead­ing to im­proved health and fam­ily plan­ning in­di­ca­tors in the prov­ince. This was stated by Dr. Fa­zlul­lah Pechuho, Sec­re­tary Health, Gov­ern­ment of Sindh.

Speak­ing on an awards dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony ti­tled “Bright Star Awards”, he said that com­mu­ni­ties are an im­por­tant part of health sys­tem and we need to re­al­ize that there are found sev­eral pos­i­tive de­viants within the com­mu­ni­ties play­ing their role in find­ing lo­cal so­lu­tions to the health prob­lems. “Rather than only bring­ing our ini­tia­tives from the top, it is very im­por­tant to rec­og­nize how com­mu­nity men and women help­ing us, the gov­ern­ment ad­dress the root causes”, he said.

The Bright Star Awards event was jointly or­ga­nized by Depart­ment of Health and Pop­u­la­tion Wel­fare Depart­ment in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Johns Hop­kins CCP on to­day. The pur­pose of the event was to rec­og­nize and honor all those in­di­vid­u­als who con­trib­ute to­wards im­prov­ing the health of moth­ers and chil­dren in Sindh.
