FIA de­cides to trans­fer founder MQM case in Islamabad fol­low­ing se­cu­rity con­cerns

ISLAMABAD: Fed­eral In­ves­ti­ga­tion Agency (FIA) has re­fused to pro­ceed in­ves­ti­ga­tions in Founder MQM case and de­cided to shift this case in Islamabad Anti-ter­ror­ism wing.

Ac­cord­ing to me­dia re­ports, FIA of­fi­cials have showed se­cu­rity con­cerns in case filed against founder MQM. The case was shifted in Anti -ter­ror­ism wing Islamabad from Karachi State Bank Cir­cu­lar.

Case was reg­is­tered against founder MQM in Oc­to­ber while FIA of­fi­cers re­fused to ini­ti­ate any in­ves­ti­ga­tions in the case amid se­cu­rity rea­sons.

DGFIA Bashir Me­mon has is­sued or­ders re­gard­ing case trans­fer while all re­lated doc­u­ments were also handed over to in­ves­ti­ga­tion wing. This in­ves­ti­ga­tion wing will mon­i­tor all ac­tiv­i­ties re­gard­ing ter­ror fi­nanc­ing, money trans­ferred in Altaf Hus­sain ac­count through char­ity foun­da­tion Khid­mat e Kha­laq (KKF).

It is vi­tal to men­tion here that this case was reg­is­tered against Altaf Hus­sain and Khid­mat e Kha­laq foun­da­tion on com­plaint of Sar­faraz Mer­chant while other lead­ers of MQM in­clud­ing Ar­shad Vohra, Babar Ghori, and Khawaja Re­han Man­soor were also nom­i­nated sus­pects in the case.
