Traf­fic ac­ci­dent kills 8 and in­jures 30 in Sar­godha

SAR­GODHA: Eight pas­sen­gers have been killed and thirty se­ri­ously in­jured in a head on col­li­sion be­tween bus and dumper near Chak No. 84 NB and the ex­plo­sive bang was heard far away from the traf­fic ac­ci­dent site.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails pas­sen­ger coach was on its way from Mandi Ba­haud­din to Mul­tan via Sar­godha. When the bus reached 84 NB Mor it col­lided with a reck­lessly driven dumper com­ing from the op­po­site di­rec­tion re­sul­tantly killing six pas­sen­gers and in­jur­ing 30 oth­ers.

Res­cue teams and po­lice reached the site and road was com­pletely blocked due to the ac­ci­dent.

Ac­cord­ing to SHO of Thana Sad­dar Mo­ham­mad Yusuf the dead are eight and iden­ti­fied as Sa­j­jad, Mo­ham­mad Bux, Aamir Shahzad, Im­ran and one dead could not be iden­ti­fied. The in­jured in­clude Mo­ham­mad So­hail, Mo­ham­mad Riaz, Mo­ham­mad Fa­heem, Nas­reen Bibi, Mo­ham­mad Ashraf, Khizar Hayat, Saghir Ah­mad, Mo­ham­mad Asif, Adeel Ah­mad, Qasir Ab­bas, Mo­ham­mad Ali, Mo­ham­mad Saqlain, Mush­taq Ah­mad, Im­ran, Hus­sain Al­lah Ditta, Man­zoor Ah­mad, Al­lah Ditta, Man­zoor Ah­mad, Ghu­lam Ra­sul and Maq­bool among the 30 in­jured. The dead bod­ies have been handed over to their heirs. The in­jured have been shifted to Dis­trict Teach­ing Hos­pi­tal Sar­godha and emer­gency has been de­clared in the hos­pi­tal.

In­volve­ment of fast and reck­lessly driven dumpers in the traf­fic ac­ci­dents is com­mon in Sar­godha dis­trict.
